Professor Khalid Khan

Patients Public and Consumers

patient and public engagement in Research

Khalid is passionate about patient and public engagement in research and practice. He believes strongly that taking part in research improves outcomes of health care.
It is Khalid’s privilege to have the opportunity to improve lives through the contribution of people in large numbers in research studies. Over several thousands of individuals have provided data in his collaborative projects. He only has study participants to thank most for his 600+ peer-reviewed papers published in international journals. Khalid has co-authored papers with patients too.
Professor Khalid Khan is concerned that medical practice is becoming paternalistic. Evidence-based medicine needs a joint venture with patients.
Khalid wishes to engage in designing studies and promoting shared decision-making.

Colleagues say Khalid is “helped by his knowledge of diverse people who he brings together in very successful collaborations”
