Professor Khalid Khan

Solution and Idea

British Medical Journal described Khalid as “Cricketer in Chief”

Khalid’s cricked article was dismissed by critics on its publication. Yet it induced a thousand (76 actually) replies in the BMJ’s correspondence section. In a game of complexity, a simple analysis made plausible the hypothesis that a single shot, hit for 6, can have an enduring influence.
When asked what they think Khalid is really good at, people who have worked with him invariably respond ‘generating solutions and ideas’. In Khalid you meet a person who over three decades has immersed himself in knowledge creation via clinical trials, knowledge transfer via evidence syntheses (systematic reviews and guidelines), and knowledge application via on-the-job, just-in-time evidence-based medicine.
The complete research life cycle experience makes him a unique scientist whose wisdom is sought by the world’s top academic institutions. Khalid has been Senior Investigator of UK National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). He has also been Director of World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Center for Research in Reproductive Health in Birmingham and London, UK.
Khalid’s extensive scientific publication list can be found at Orcid, Acadmia.edu, Sci Profiles, Google Scholar and Research Gate.
